Recently the Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC), elected Kitsap County Commissioner Chris Endresen as vice president of the state association. In 2005, she served as Secretary/Treasurer of the group.
While the counties in Washington are diverse geographically and economically, all counties in our state face challenges. WSAC is a place we can all come together to help respond to those challenges strategically and learn from our peers, said Endresen. I am proud to assume this new leadership role representing Washington counties statewide.
A voluntary, non-profit association, WSAC provides advocacy and liaison with the legislature and statewide elected and appointed officials, training and workshops, a workers compensation retrospective rating pool, technical assistance and the opportunity to network and share best practices.
Commissioner Jan Angel also serves on the board, and Commissioner Patty Lent serves as an alternate.
Endresen has also been appointed to the Board of Directors for the National Association of Counties (NACo). NACo is the only national organization in the U.S. the represents county government. |
