The Kingston office of American Marine Bank (AMB) ran its own food drive to benefit the Kingston Food Bank. The idea was the brainchild of Sandy Walters in the AMB Loan Service Center, who read in the Kingston Community News about the lack of supplies at the food bank. The office rallied the AMB troops not only at the Kingston office but at all the banking locations across Kitsap County. Competition between the Loan Service Center in the lower level and the bank branch in the upper level soon took off.
Our idea started out as a way to fulfill a community need, and it soon turned into a fun competition between our departments, said Branch Manager, Debbie Anderson. We used baked good to entice our co-workers to contribute and we were thrilled with the results. Over 100 employees of the company participated in the drive and an entire truckload of supplies was delivered on Sept. 15. |
