New urgent care clinic opens in Gig Harbor
Franciscan Health Systems opened a new urgent care clinic in Gig Harbor in October. The St. Anthony Prompt Care, a state-of-the-art urgent care clinic offering treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, opened in the St. Anthony Medical Building, formerly called the 4700 Pt. Fosdick Building. The clinic is open seven days a week and is staffed by two physicians and three registered nurse practitioners.

“Our new clinic will provide quick treatment for minor injuries and illnesses by highly qualified physicians and providers, without an appointment,” says Cliff Robertson, MD, chief medical officer for the Franciscan Medical Group. “St. Anthony Prompt Care represents a new choice for urgent and after-hours care in the Gig Harbor community.”

The building was renamed at the beginning of October “to reflect the expansion of Franciscan Health System programs in the landmark facility,” according to Franciscan, which is also in the process of building a Gig Harbor hospital named after St. Anthony. Other Franciscan services in the building include a sleep disorders center, a dialysis center and three practices.

The urgent care clinic has moved into the space vacated earlier this year by an urgent care facility operated by MultiCare that has temporarily relocated nearby. MultiCare is building a new medical center across the street from the St. Anthony Medical Building. That building will include a day surgery center and a women’s center, among other services.
