New Barnes & Noble debuts on Nov. 8
Barnes & Noble, Inc. will open its new bookstore on Nov. 8 in the Kitsap Mall in Silverdale. Concurrently; the existing store at 3108 NW Randall Way will close. The new store will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and include a café serving Starbucks coffee. The new Silverdale Barnes & Noble will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sun. through Thurs., and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fri. and Sat., and employ approximately 100 people from the community.

The public is invited to a Preview Night Party at the new store on Nov. 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. A portion of the preview night sales will benefit the Literacy Council of Kitsap County. The Heather Wood Combo will perform throughout the evening. The Jackson Park Elementary School choir, Brownsville Elementary choir, and Fairview Junior High orchestra will also perform. The Central Kitsap High School Key Club will entertain children with face painting and balloon animals. Kim Doyle, youth librarian for the Sylvan Way Library, will host Storytime at 7 p.m. Clifford the Big Red Dog will be on hand to meet his fans.
