| Jon Fuller, former catcher for the Cincinnati Reds organization, recently opened the Gig Harbor Baseball & Sports Academy in the North Harbor Business Park off Burnham Drive. The sports academy provides players with the opportunity to learn, develop, and advance their baseball skill levels.
Pete Randall, the owner of Baseball Pitchers School, offers progressive, specific pitching instruction as well as guidance in securing college scholarships. Certified NESTA instructor, Evan Burk of Fast-N-Fit Training, heads the speed, agility, and quickness classes. These businesses supply the necessary tools and instructors to train future baseball players and athletes from the Key and Kitsap Peninsulas, Gig Harbor, and the surrounding areas.
The academy provides training for the Narrows Baseball Club players (60-75 athletes), and also supplies services for Little League, PAA, school and select teams in addition to individual athletes. Practices are currently being held Mon. through Thurs. from 6 to 7:15 p.m. with SAQ training sessions on Mon., Tues., and Thurs. at 7:30 p.m.
