| Employers expanding to or located in Washington State with less than 50 employees have the opportunity to use the Washington Customized Employment Training Program. It helps organizations fund training through community and technical college customized contract training programs.
When organizations enter into an agreement with a qualified institution for customized training, the Customized Employment Training Program allows them to pay only 25 percent of the cost of training upon completion. The remaining 75 percent can be paid over an 18-month period, and employers may receive a business and occupation tax credit for 50 percent of the value of their payments. Program participants must increase their in-state work force by 75 percent of the number of trainees in the calendar year after completing training, and file an annual survey with the Department of Revenue.
