| The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nations largest small-business group, has endorsed Mike McGavick for election to the U.S. Senate. The former CEO of Safeco Insurance is running against first term incumbent Maria Cantwell.
Mike McGavicks support for affordable health care, lower taxes, controlling government spending and full repeal of the death tax earned him the backing of small-business owners and made this endorsement an easy choice, said NFIB Executive Vice President Dan Danner. Unlike his opponent, he will be a steadfast ally of Washingtons small businesses. As someone who has succeeded in business, Mike McGavick knows the challenges that small-business owners face daily to be successful.
McGavicks strong stance on issues important to Washingtons small-business owners, the countrys top job creators, including tax relief, tort reform, permanent repeal of the death tax and the enactment of Small-Business Health Plans, stands in stark contrast to the record of incumbent Cantwell, who has voted against all of these issues. She has never voted with small-business owners more than 25 percent of the time in the Senate, actually earning a zero percent score on NFIBs small-business voting record for the 108th Congress.
NFIBs political support is based on the candidates positions and records on small-business issues. |
