Eickmeyer, Haigh named “JobMakers”
Both 35th-district state representatives, Bill Eickmeyer (D-Belfair) and Kathy Haigh (D-Shelton), are rated as “JobMakers” on the annual legislative scorecard put out by the Association of Washington Business (AWB) and the Washington Roundtable. The organizations annually designate lawmakers as either JobMakers or JobKillers based on a given legislator’s bill sponsorships and voting records.

The business groups awarded the JobMaker title to Eickmeyer and Haigh for having worked to improve Washington’s business climate, cut the government-related costs of doing business, beef up the state’s infrastructure, and support Washington’s education system, particularly in the area of work-force development and skill-centered job training.

Eickmeyer, was also named Washington’s first “Friend of Manufacturing” by Washington Manufacturing Services last year.
