YWCA announces 2006
“Women of Achievement”
The YWCA of Kitsap County recently announced 14 “Women of Achievement” honorees. Since 1989, the YWCA has honored over 300 exceptional local women, who have made tremendous contributions to our community.

The 17th Anniversary “Women of Achievement” recognition luncheon will be held on Apr. 25 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the Kitsap Conference Center at Bremerton Harborside. Guest speaker will be The Honorable Faith Ireland (ret), State Supreme Court Justice.

• Marcia Bixey — president, Money Wise Women Educational Services
• Teresa Goheen — a senior, at Bremerton High School
• Lorinne M. Lee — a teacher, at Olympic High School
• Jane Miles — YWCA founder
• Wanda Moore — regional manager, Kitsap Credit Union
• Ellen Nakata — owner, Town and Country Markets
• Ellen Newberg — director (ret.), Kitsap Regional Library
• Helen M Pendergraft — a community volunteer
• Patricia J Peterson — test engineering technician, PSNS IMF
• Jill Robinson — executive director, Peninsula Services
• Patty Sleasman and Peggy Iversen — co-founders, Silverwood School
• Lisa Stirrett — artist
• Rosemary Tracy — a community volunteer
