Burnett adds historic venue
with antiques and collectibles
On Mar. 5, Amy Burnett will re-open the Callow Avenue gallery, located at 322 Callow in Bremerton. It coincides with the Kitsap County Historical Museum’s Mar. 3 unveiling of the permanent Moeller Jewelry store installation within the museum.

Two years ago Burnett bought the old Moeller Jewelry Store building, which included the contents. The business had been in operation since 1918, and the display fixtures were even older than that. She donated the watchmaker’s bench, tools, watches and parts to the museum, in memory of her father George Allen.

The Callow gallery is historic with the antique Moeller street clock welcoming visitors. Inside are the sixty feet of original 1918 hand carved Moeller Jewelry display cabinets and several original lighting fixtures. Besides art, the store sells kitchen collectibles from the 50s’ to the 80s’. “Usable, affordable and collectible” is the store’s motto.

Not all the kitchen collectibles can be immediately purchased, for Burnett has created what she calls a Pyrex installation where viewing is the central focus and features probably the largest selection of vintage Pyrex.

The Mar. 5 opening is from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature live jazz and door prizes. For more information call (360) 373-3187 or amybremerton@aol.com    Store hours are Thursday – Sunday 11 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
