Bremerton Housing Authority
announces development team
The Board of Commissioners of the Bremerton Housing Authority (BHA), in a unanimous vote, selected Ted Johnson of Marathon Development to take on the second of two phases of the redevelopment of Bremerton’s Westpark neighborhood.

With this final, keystone position filled, BHA’s development team is equipped to carry out all aspects of the second phase its $300 million Westpark redevelopment plan. Other key partners were selected by the housing authority in earlier decisions.

The latest plan for the redevelopment of the 82-acre parcel calls for a mixed-use community of diverse incomes including 250,000 square feet of retail with shops and restaurants, 200 for-sale single family detached homes, 300 townhomes and stacked flats (two- to three-unit condominium buildings) and 250 rental units. Once complete, the new Westpark will also be home to offices, a community center, sports fields, playgrounds and open spaces, plus the 72 unit Firs II assisted living facility currently under construction.

The team is comprised of national and northwest firms including: Rice Fergus Miller of Bremerton and Torti & Gallas are the architects for the project. The local firm leads the architecture team for the project, which also includes The Berger Partnership as landscape architect and New Home Trends as real estate market architect; Legato Consulting is the low income housing development consultant; Kidder Matthews, real estate brokerage; Parametrix of Bremerton is the civil engineer and surveyor; Huckell/Weinman Associates of Kirkland is the environmental consultant; Foster Pepper & Schefelman and Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll comprise the legal team; CSG Advisors are the financial advisors; Mike Purdy & Associates is the procurement consultant; and Bank of America is the financial partner for the entirety of the redevelopment.
