| The Association of Washington Business (AWB) has partnered with several freight carriers to create the AWB Freight Program. On Jan. 16, AWB members began receiving a 67 percent discount minimum directly off selected carriers base rates for all less than truckload (LTL) shipments.
Some of our members struggle against steadily increasing fuel and shipping costs, AWB President Don Brunell said. This program will alleviate some of the pressures surrounding these costs by offering smaller businesses the same bulk rate as larger corporations.
Members will have the ability to track all inbound and outbound shipments, view the best possible rates between the carriers, and arrange for new shipments online via an integrated Web site. AWBs partners include Oak Harbor, USF Reddaway, Overnite Transportation, Watkins Motor Freight and Central Transportation, with more options available in the future.
Members can control every aspect of their shipping needs through this program, Brunell said. By using AWB Freight, smaller companies can gain the competitive advantage they need for success.
