Leader International Corporation advocates
for NASCAR project — with prudence
Leader International has announced that it is taking a formal position of advocating and endorsing the ISC locating a NASCAR racetrack in South Kitsap County. Although the Bremerton and Port Orchard Chambers, as well as the Kitsap Economic Development Council (KEDC) and the Visitor's and Convention Bureau (VCB) have all come out publicly in favor of the project, Leader is among the first private sector businesses to endorse the project.

“From a business perspective the endorsement is unequivocal as this presents a very rare 'transformational' opportunity for the entire Kitsap area — North, Central and South and Mason County,” the company said in a press release. “While there will be many a naysayer and as many who will stay 'on the fence,' this is without a doubt one of the most important community decisions in decades.”

Rick Flaherty, Leader's President & CEO, indicated that the firm sees many opportunities for the community and to use this project as a magnet to attract much need economic development throughout the Peninsula. Flaherty added, “While many in the community despise growth and the changes any expansion brings, my two years as a member of the Port Orchard/South Kitsap UGA Sub-Area Plan Citizen Advisory Group (CAG) taught me that having solid information is the key to finding balance.”.
