Cosmo's Ristorante and Delicatessen, a popular south end eatery, opened the doors of its new building located across the street from its original location on Lund Ave., Dec. 15 to a full house and rave reviews.
The well-known delicatessen in Port Orchard is now a full-fledged restaurant, bar, espresso bar and yes, still a delicatessen. The new building was constructed by the BJC Group Inc., of Port Orchard, which provided a complete design/build package including land use and permitting approval, site and building design, as well as all other construction related services.
"We're very excited about our new facility," said Shelly Lewis, co-owner with Christina Balazs. "It's turned out just as we'd imagined, and we couldn't be happier with the whole project. We were a little concerned about the layout of the building at first, but we partnered with BJC Group here in Port Orchard to create the design and think we've ended up with a great space to host our customers, many of whom have become our friends."
Customers enter the delicatessen and espresso bar using one entrance, and the restaurant and bar from another. "It may be a little confusing at first, but everyone will catch on eventually. And, we're still the same people... we'll still treat people like they're coming to our house" Lewis adds.
The building was designed with a Tuscan feel in mind, complete with simple columns, arched windows, shutters, and ornate window and dentil details. The colorful and vibrant interior features stained concrete floors throughout, columns, arches, and a vaulted barrel ceiling. The bar boasts a stained concrete countertop with a luscious glossy finish.
Robert Baglio, owner of The BJC Group Inc. praised all the sub-contractors and suppliers for their part in making the project a success. Those include: N.L. Olson & Associates Inc.; RV Associates Inc.: RW Drywall; Ecklund Drywall & Painting; Gale Insulation; Evergreen Lumber; Dahl Glass; Contractor Roofing Services; Vern's Fencing; Valley Floors; Port Orchard Plumbing; Bird Electric; Skelton Heating & Cooling; Bargreen Ellingsen; Tri-Tec Systems; Road Runner Striping; Ace Paving; Yamamoto Landscaping; Port Orchard Glass; Heritage Fireplace, and Alaska Refrigeration, as well as Project Superintendent Daryl Read and the BJC construction crew. |
