| MultiCare Health System was one of only 29 winners in the world and the only health care company honored by the American Association of Training and Development with the 2005 BEST Awards program, according to the company. MultiCare outperformed companies such as Lockheed Martin, Booz Allen Hamilton, Merck and Company and Toshiba and was ranked 12th in the world and seventh in the United States overall.
MultiCare, which operates an urgent care and other services in Gig Harbor as well as several hospitals, won the international award for its ability to link learning and performance, involve leaders in organizational learning and innovate around learning efforts and educational opportunities.
