| The Rogue Valley Transportation District (RVTD) has awarded Paratransit Services the contract to operate the District's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA public transit system serving several cities in southwestern Oregon.
The selection of the Bremerton-based nonprofit company followed a highly competitive procurement process that began last April. The process attracted bids from the industry's top transit companies.
RVTD provides public transportation services within the city of Medford, the largest city in Jackson County, Ore., as well as connecting service to the cities of Central Point, White City, Jacksonville, Phoenix, Talent, and Ashland.
Under the new 3-year contract with RVTD, Paratransit Services will operate "Valley Lift," the wheelchair-accessible component of the fixed route public transit system. Beginning Dec. 5, Paratransit personnel will manage Valley Lift from a facility in Medford with a fleet of 18 vehicles. Corporate support will be provided by staff in Bremerton. |
