| The South Kitsap Helpline is seeking donations from individuals and businesses to help needy families during the holidays.
Holiday Food Donations and Food Drives
The South Kitsap Helpline Food Bank is requesting donations of food for the holidays to help feed the hungry in the community. The agency will be providing Thanksgiving and Christmas meals with all of the trimmings to more than 1,300 local families and that is in addition to the more than 700 families that are helped monthly. Food donations are accepted from the public from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon. through Sat.
Donating Gifts and Giving Tree Information
If a business would like to participate in Helpline's Giving Tree Program to ensure gifts will be available for those in need, contact Loey Larson at (360) 876-4089 by Nov. 18.
Adopting Families for the Holidays
The South Kitsap Helpline is also currently seeking local businesses, service clubs, churches, schools and individuals who wish to adopt needy families for the holidays. Contact Larson at (360) 876-4089 to be paired with a family that needs help to have a happy holiday season. |
