West Sound Academy completes
new campus and moves to the hill
In early November West Sound Academy faculty, staff and students moved into its new, permanent location. Surrounded by forests and fields that overlook Liberty Bay and the Olympic Mountain Range, West Sound Academy now offers expanded scientific laboratories, classrooms, computer, library, and performance spaces as well as a professional art gallery that will be open to the public.

As Nellie Baker, Head of School, explained, “We were committed to creating a space that was more than just a school. We wanted to provide a resource to the community.”

With that intention, the new campus is available to the public to reserve for workshops and events when the school is not in session. The larger, 20,000 square-foot facility will accommodate the anticipated steady growth in student enrollment.

Open House events are scheduled for 7 p.m., Jan. 12 (middle school) and Jan. 26 (upper school). All prospective students and families are invited to attend. West Sound Academy is the only independent school in the greater Kitsap region serving students in grades 6-12.
