| Viking Financial Services Corp. and its major subsidiary, Viking Bank, which has a branch in Poulsbo, achieved record earnings for the third quarter, announced Patrick D. Redmond, president & CEO.
Net income for the nine months ended Sept. 30 rose 24 percent to $3.5 million from $2.8 million for the same period last year.
During the third quarter, 7,539 shares of our stock traded at weighted average price of $25 per share. We are proud of our accomplishments in the first nine months of 2005; and we remain optimistic about the future of our company, commented Redmond. Our focus this year is on improving the customer experience in our offices. We are developing new technologies, products and services to serve our customers. Our goal is to increase customers and provide more of our broad array of financial services to each customer, he added.
Redmond was also recently named as chair of the American Bankers Association's (ABA) Community Bankers Council for the 2005-2006 association year. In that position, he will lead a council of 97 bank CEOs from across the country who work to strengthen the role of community banks as providers of financial services. The council sets priorities on issues affecting community banks, identifies product needs of community banks, and sets the agenda for the ABA's annual National Conference for Community Bankers. |
