| The Port of Bremerton and Kitsap Peninsula Business Journal are co-sponsoring a special luncheon focusing on the importance of world trade in Kitsap County and Washington State.
Guest speaker will be the Honorable Brad Owen, Lieutenant Governor of Washington State, a strong advocate of international trade, who will share his ideas on the emerging trade markets for Kitsap businesses. The luncheon will be held at the Kitsap Conference Center at Bremerton Harborside in Bremerton on Nov. 16.
The luncheon is the result of work done by the Pacific Northwest International Trade Alliance, formerly known as the Kitsap International Trade Development Committee. This Alliance is a consortium of businesses and organizations that formed five years ago to encourage businesses to explore the opportunities of selling products and services in the global market.
The Alliance has sponsored past trade development workshops targeting trade with Canada and Mexico and also sponsored Washington State's Trade Week 2005 which included Washington State Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development International Trade Division representatives from their state offices in China, Germany, Japan, Mexico, South Korea and Taiwan. Former Secretary of State Ralph Munro, Rear Admiral Bill Center, and Congressman Norm Dicks were guest speakers at previous trade luncheon events.
The program begins at 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Kitsap Conference Center at Bremerton Harborside in Bremerton. Cost is $20. Seating is limited and advance reservations are required. Contact the Port of Bremerton by Nov. 9 at (360) 674-2381, ext. 0 for reservations or more information. |
