A new forum series sponsored by the Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce invites the public to join in Friday mornings for breakfast and guest speakers. The speakers will cover topics ranging from legislative to environmental to public safety. Its an opportunity for the public to participate in local government affairs and issues, said Eric Fong, member of the chambers Legislative Committee.
The Kitsap Community Forum will be held every Friday, starting Sept. 9, at Baja Outpost on Bethel Road in Port Orchard. No host breakfast starts at 7 a.m. with the speaker to follow at 7:30 a.m. Rep. Derek Kilmer from the 26th Legislative District will kick off the forum on Sept. 9. Other upcoming speakers include: UW professor Julia Parish, Sept. 16; Kitsap County Prosecutor Russ Hauge, Sept. 23; Sen. Bob Oke, Sept. 30; Kitsap County Sheriff Steve Boyer, Oct. 7; Elections debate, Oct. 14; KPS President Elizabeth Gilje, Oct. 21; Elections debate, Oct. 28. |
