The Board of Directors of the Silverdale Chamber of Commerce elected the officers for the coming year at its August meeting.

Gene Straw, of John L Scott Real Estate, will be the new president of the board. He has been a member of the Chamber since March 2002 and has served as the chair of the Chamber’s Military Affairs Committee, a Chamber Ambassador, and most recently as the water operations manager for the quicksilver hydroplane race. In addition, Lorraine May was selected as the president-elect, Donna Gotel of Pioneer Services will assume the treasurer position, Carrie Mulcahy from Country Meadows/Encore Communities was elected to the secretary position, and Nathan Uffens from the Red Lion Silverdale Hotel accepted the position of vice-president for special events.

The new officers will be installed at the Chamber’s annual Accolades Awards Gala on Saturday Sept. 10 at the Red Lion Silverdale Hotel.
