Kitsap firm offers nation’s first GIS
web service for water utilities

Evergreen Rural Water of Washington (ERWoW), the state’s professional water and wastewater association, announced a first of its kind partnership agreement with Applied Digital Mapping (ADM), a Kitsap County company and leader in location-based technologies.

The two have teamed up to offer an internet-based Geographic Information System (GIS) service to association members.ERWoW’s GIS Web Service delivers world class GIS technology to water districts, homeowner associations, counties, & municipalities.

By simply having internet access and a password, users can quickly and easily build a computerized map that depicts their area with the accurate location of facilities and detailed asset information. Users can further customize their digital map by adding additional layers of local information including streets, imagery, environmental data & topography.

The service is an aid to water providers that need an accurate map of their infrastructure for operations, maintenance, regulatory compliance and long-range planning purposes. It is also the perfect solution for local governments that need to find a more affordable way to deploy existing GIS data throughout different departments (Planning, Public Works, Police, Health, etc.).
