The Bremerton office of the Department of Revenue is holding a free New Business Outreach workshop to help new and small businesses understand how to report their state taxes. The workshop will be held on July 20, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sheridan Park Community Center, 680 Lebo Blvd, Rooms B and C, in Bremerton.

Revenue staff members will explain the state’s excise taxes and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about how taxes specifically apply to their businesses. Tax reporting classifications, deductions, and sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements will also be discusses. Participants will receive a workbook which answers the most common questions asked by businesses as well as copies of department rules and regulations. New businesses will also have the opportunity to volunteer for tax consultation visits to ensure that they are reporting properly.
