AWB launching local talk radio program

The Association of Washington Business (AWB) recently acquired a one-hour radio program on 1180 AM, KLAY Radio. The broadcast will air every Thursday from 11 to noon.

“Our new radio broadcast will provide a medium to express the views and concerns of the business community,” AWB President Don Brunell said. “Issues involving business are seldom expressed in the mainstream media. This gives us the opportunity to ensure our voice is heard.”

Terry Corbell will host the program and cover issues like unemployment, business tax structure, health care, environmental laws and labor law. To start things off, AWB will be airing a segment about the burdensome unemployment insurance rates. The program will also include a special guest from the business community every week.

“Providing time for our members and Legislators to keep the public informed of laws and regulations that may affect businesses is an important way for us to keep the people aware of our concerns,” Brunell said.

AWB will be streaming the broadcast on its website, www.awb.org. “We decided to stream the broadcast online so people who don’t live or work in Tacoma also have the ability to hear what business leaders have to say,” Brunell said.
