Girl Scouts seek
Woman of Distinction nominees

Nominations for Girl Scouts 2005 Woman of Distinction Award which recognizes a woman who is an outstanding community leader and role model for girls are being accepted through Aug. 15.

The recipient must have been a former Girl Scout as a girl or is currently an adult member of Girl Scouts of the USA. The award recipient will be announced at Girl Scouts – Totem Council’s Leadership Luncheon on December 8 at the Westin Hotel.

The criteria for selection include the nominee’s contributions in her field of expertise and the degree to which she is recognized and valued by peers and the broader community as well as how the nominee exemplifies the values of Girl Scouts in her professional and personal life in reflecting the highest ideals of character, conduct, and patriotism and service to others.

The nominee must also reside within the ten northwest Washington counties Girl Scouts – Totem Council serves: Clallam, Island, King, North Mason, Kitsap, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom.

Nomination forms are available on Girl Scouts web site at www.girlscoutstotem.org/womanofdistinction and must be postmarked by August 15.
