The Olympic College Board of Trustees has approved the appointment of Betti Sheldon and John Mitchell as new trustees to the John Bremer and Edward Bremer Consolidated Trust (Bremer Trust) in a special meeting on Jan. 4. They will be joining Mike Connolly, Olympic College vice president of administration, who has been sole trustee since 1987.
The decision to restructure the Bremer Trust came on the heels of Connollys announcement to retire in the next few years. The change in the structure is part of succession planning. In October, the Olympic College Board of Trustees approved an action to restate and amend the Bremer Trust to include two additional trustees. The Kitsap County Superior Court gave its approval of the new trustee structure in December. The Bremer Trust will continue to operate as a real estate trust and focus on building its investments in the city.
Sheldon recently retired from the State Senate after representing the 23rd District for several terms. Mitchell is an attorney and the current president of Bremerton Rotary. |
