The Institute for Financial Literacy & Economic Development has scheduled a major financial conference for April 1, at the Kitsap Pavilion. Doors open at 7 a.m. and the event runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The conference is being held by the newly organized, Institute for Financial Literacy and Economic Development and The New War on Poverty.
Featured speakers are Mark Victor Hansen co-creator of Chicken Soup for the Soul and One Minute Millionaire; Blair Singer, Rich Dad Advisor and author of Sales Dog; Robert Larsen, financial advisor to the rich; Orrin Hudson, motivational speaker and author of Think, Act and Be Someone; and Ken McElroy, The ABCs of Real Estate Investing and Rich Dad Advisor. McElroy will touch on real estate investing and how to read a financial statement. Early bird registration is $45 until Feb. 17 and $75 after or $90 at the door.
Pastor Clinton Bush, CEO and Dabbs McInnis, director of Community and Public Relations started this program to teach children about money and how to read and understand a financial statement. The Institute for Financial Literacy & Economic Development classes for kids started in October 2004, known as the War on Poverty (WOP). The program started with 10 students and now over 40 students are signed up.
