Sponsors needed for NM 2005 Relay for Life

“Hats Off for a Cure!” is the theme for the 2005 American Cancer Society Relay for Life of North Mason.

Relay is a team event, conducted annually in thousands of communities by local volunteers to raise awareness about cancer while raising funds to support cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services through ACS.

North Mason’s seventh Relay for Life will be 18-hours long, from 7 p.m., Fri., June 17, to 1 p.m., Sat., June 18, at the North Mason High School stadium.

The NM Relay Committee, under the leadership of Kathy Tietz, is seeking sponsors at the following levels: Gold ($1,200), Silver ($600) and Bronze ($300), with a goal of $10,000 in corporate sponsorships this year.

Without sponsorship, a team may participate for a $100 entry fee, which includes the price of 12 event t-shirts. Each team member is encouraged to bring $100 in contributions for the American Cancer Society.

Belfair’s Joyce Langston is in charge of the Luminaria Ceremony, which will be held at 10 p.m., Fri., June 17, in memory of those lost, and in honor of survivors of cancer.

Any community member seeking further information may contact NM Relay event chair Kathy Tietz at (360) 275-1793.
