The Childrens Museum Board of Directors has appointed Cheryl Dale as its first Executive Director.
Dale brings over 21 years of sales, marketing, business and program development experience to The Childrens Museum, which is located on Bainbridge Island. She is the founder of Bainbridge Public Schools Trust, has held the position of PTO President for three years at Blakely Elementary and Sakai Intermediate School, and is currently in her second term on the Bainbridge Island School Board where she has served as President and Vice President.
We are very excited about the addition of Cheryl Dale as Executive Director, said Molly Hogger, Childrens Museum founder and board president. Cheryl brings a wealth of knowledge to the Childrens Museum. She has a proven track record as a strong community leader with the right mix of skills to manage a growing non-profit.
The science, culture, and arts driven museum is now 84 percent funded and aims to open its doors in March. Over the next several months, a large group of volunteers will be installing the opening exhibits and completing renovations on the facility, located at 305 Madison Avenue in downtown Winslow. Nearly all materials, from paint to carpet, have been donated by community businesses.
The Childrens Museum, is a non-profit organization founded in 2002 and built by more than 100 community volunteers ranging from professional architects, builders, scientists, educators, and artists. The mission is to create a vibrant Kitsap community resource by providing a rich combination of exhibits and activities for children and families to explore science, culture and the arts.
