BlueJackets continue ramping up
for inaugural season

The Kitsap BlueJackets Baseball Club, the locally owned minor league franchise, recently announced that plans for its inaugural season are proceeding ahead of schedule.

As of the middle of December, the club had sold 32 percent of its Reserved Box Seats; 27 percent of the General Admission Seats; and that its local Corporate Sponsorship Packages are already 31 percent sold.

The team, which will play at the newly renovated stadium at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds, recently named its first manager and has already signed most of its collegiate level players.

It also held a get acquainted community event on Dec. 30 at the Eagles Nest in Bremerton, which is adjacent to the ballpark. Visitors were able to meet the local owners of the club as well as the coaches and some of the players, as well as check out the ballpark.

“We’re very gratified by the level of support we’ve received from the community,” said Steve Stagner, a spokesman for the club. “The business community has come out strongly in support of what we’re doing and the level of entertainment we intend to provide.”

Stagner also noted that the club intends to be active in the schools around the county as well as work with community and service organizations.
