Dr. Edward Kardong and the staff at Eagle Harbor Dental have recently earned certification as an EnviroStar business. Eagle Harbor Dental, located at 710 Ericksen Ave. N.E. Suite 200, Bainbridge Island, has demonstrated a commitment to protecting the environment by reducing and properly managing hazardous waste. They have been awarded four stars for these efforts.

Kardong purchased an amalgam separator to keep residual amounts of amalgam (used in fillings) from entering the wastewater. The office uses steam instead of chemicals for sterilization. Other waste reduction steps include recycling lead foils, and lead aprons. The office has incorporated best management practices for storineg hazardous products and wastes and provides secondary containment to prevent possible spills or leaks.
