American Marine Bank opens
Safeway branches in Sequim, Port Angeles

Bainbridge Island-based American Marine Bank recently announced the opening of its first Safeway in-store location in Sequim. The branch is the first of a pair of Safeway offices slated to open by year end. A Port Angeles office opening date is targeted for Dec. 13. A third Safeway office in Port Townsend is under construction and expected to open in the first quarter of 2005 as part of a major remodel currently underway at the store.

“Safeway offers us a unique opportunity to provide a full line of banking services in a more convenient way for our customers,” said Rex Townsend, President and CEO of American Marine Bank. “Our stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, providing more extended hours then most banks in the area.”

American Marine’s new Safeway offices will offer full service banking providing personal checking and savings products, loans, mortgages, trust and wealth management services and business banking products. Plans for a grand opening event at the Sequim location are slated for early December.
