Local authors featured in writers calendar |
Several local writers are among the 55 authors featured in Bylines 2005 Writers Desk Calendar available now at local bookstores and online. Bylines is an inspirational daytimer by, for and about writers. Each week features a different author who writes about the frustrations and rewards of the craft. Bylines contributors live across the United States, in China, Great Britain and Canada. Writers in this area are:
- Kelli Agodon, of Kingston author of poetry books Small Knots and Geography; winner of 2003 Floating Bridge Press Chapbook Award; poetry has appeared in North American Review, Parnassus and on NPRs Writers Almanac with Garrison Keillor.
- Nancy Lou Canyon of Kingston has published poems and short stories in Posey Magazine, Spindrift, Poulsbohemian Anthology and on the website Poets against the War. Has completed one novel Whispering Idaho, and is working on a second.
- Dahti Blanchard of Port Townsend a playwright and novelist. Her book Dream of the Circle of Women was published in 2004.
- Mary Buckham of Port Townsend author of a non-fiction travel book, hundreds of magazine articles; writing workshop instructor.
- Francis Caldwell of Port Angeles award-wining author and photographer who has published eight books and has written for Alaska, Alaska Southeastern, Go Boating, Canoe & Kayak and others.
- Linda Hagen-Miller of Spokane Bylines creator and publisher. She is a regular contributor to Coastal Living, Via, Northwest Travel, Massage and others and also the grand prizewinner of the North American Travel Journalists Association 2003 writing competition. Hagen-Miller is a former resident of Kitsap County and at one time served as a Chamber of Commerce executive here.
