Kitsap Bank sells Bangor branch
to Armed Forces Bank

Kitsap Bank announced that it has sold its branch located on Naval Submarine Base Bangor to Armed Forces Bank. The sale will be completed on November 19. According to Jim Carmichael, president and CEO, “Armed Forces Bank has been intending to open a branch at the newly remodeled Base Commissary/Exchange when completed. To facilitate this expansion, they approached Kitsap Bank with an offer to acquire our Bangor branch. With our facility lease about to expire, we saw a mutual benefit to all concerned — Armed Forces Bank, Kitsap Bank, and the local sailors, Marines, and military family members we serve.”

Carmichael went on to explain, “All other branches of Kitsap Bank will remain unaffected and continue to provide a full range of financial services, just as we have for the past 96 years. While we have enjoyed serving military personnel and their families for many years on Bangor, we also understand that some of our active duty customers often have unique banking requirements, at times outside the local area. Armed Forces Bank is equipped to offer banking services designed specifically for the needs of active duty military personnel under deployment.”.
