Festival of Trees needs volunteers –
and Santas

The annual Festival of Trees relies on the volunteer efforts of hundreds of youth and adults to usher in the holiday season for the Kitsap community. This year, volunteers 14 and older are needed in a variety of tasks: greeting guests; taking tickets; selling raffle tickets; wearing character costumes; and monitoring displays. Volunteer Santas are also needed.

Volunteer applications are available at the Harrison Hospital’s website (harrisonhospital.org) or by calling (360) 475-6465. Santas, who will need to provide their own suits, should call (360) 792-6763.

The Harrison Hospital Foundation fundraiser takes place Nov. 26 through 28 at the Kitsap Pavilion and Presidents’ Hall. Returning are longtime favorites Party among the Trees; Gala Tree Party and Auction; and Santa Breakfast.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of local businesses and the dedicated efforts of hundreds of volunteers, the 18-year-old Festival has raised over $1.8 million for our community through enhanced programs and services at Harrison Hospital. This year’s event will benefit Harrison’s pediatric rehabilitation program, which serves over 200 children each year on the Olympic Peninsula.

The nonprofit Foundation raises and manages charitable gifts for the benefit of Harrison Hospital. As a friend of the hospital, the Foundation’s purpose is to generate community support that provides for healthcare excellence for the hospital’s patients and the broader community now and in the future.
