Commissioner Jan Angel recently received a unanimous re-election endorsement from the at the the Cross Sound Transportation Coalitions (CSTC) September meeting.
Angel said, The CSTC and I agree that new jobs mean new revenue which enables us to have the funds available for needed services and to preserve and protect our environment.
CSTCs chair Jim Martin commented, CSTC is focused on creating safe, sensible, efficient and mobile transportation access, and family wage jobs here in Kitsap, not party affiliation. Jan showed us she understands, agrees and supports CSTC goals.
Martin cited Angels plan to focus her attention on getting Public-Private Initiative (PPI) authority for Kitsap County from the governor and legislature. Such authority will allow Kitsap to enter into contracts with private industry to provide safe, sensible, efficient and mobile transportation access, and family wage jobs for Kitsap and the Olympic Peninsula. He says existing resources are not being used to provide Kitsap with that kind of transportation now, noting a recent report showing seven deaths occurred last year on the southern portion of Highway 3 between Belfair and Gorst. |
