Kitsap Bank recently announced its 2004 scholarship recipients. For over 30 years, the bank, which does business outside of Kitsap County, North Mason County and Gig Harbor as Olympic Bank, has emphasized the importance of continuing education by offering scholarships to the sons and daughters of employees who are graduating from any high school and entering college, trade school, or university. According to Helen Langer Smith, Chairman of the Board, We are very proud of these students and we wish them the best in their future endeavors.
The 2004 scholarship recipients are:
- Angela M. Capdepon: a graduate of North Mason High School who plans to study Business Administration at Tacoma Community College. She is a member of 4-H Club, Hi-Joy Jr. Bowling League, and S.A.F.E. and also received a 4-H Scholarship.
- Denver B. Nichols: a graduate from North Mason High School who plans to study Art at Olympic College. He is a member of the S.A.F.E. Club and Cross Country.
- Dustin Bills: graduated from the Tacoma School of Arts (SOTA) and plans to study Graphic Design at the Seattle Art Institute.
- Jamison Monoco: a North Kitsap High School graduate who plans to study Marketing at Olympic College. She was a co-manager of the school store and was on the volleyball team through her junior year.
- Jordan L. Aguinaldo: a graduate of Olympic High School who plans to attend Olympic College. He was involved with the Future Business Leaders of America.
- Kaylee Skagg: graduated from Peninsula High School and plans to study education at Western Washington University. She was a band member, Key Club President, a Human Society volunteer and elementary tutor. She also received the Mildred McColl Scholarship.
- Kyle T. Kendall: an honor roll graduate from Gig Harbor High School who plans to study Secondary Education at Washington State University.
- Philip S. Spencer: a Bremerton High School graduate who plans to study Computer Science at Olympic College. He received the Web Design award and was on the soccer and cross country teams.
