Garguile named as new OC Workforce
Development Dean

Mary Garguile was recently appointed as Dean for Workforce Development at Olympic College (OC). She brings a strong professional and educational background to this position that includes oversight of the professional-technical programs, the Basic Skills program, and the responsibility of fostering partnerships with community-based organizations.

Garguile has worked with OC for the last 27 years in a number of positions including Interim Dean for Workforce Development, Instructor/Coordinator for the Early Childhood Education Program, Interim Associate Dean for Professional/Technical Education and as the Early Childhood Program Manager/Coordinator.

She is recognized in Early Childhood Education around the state as a leader in Skills Standards and innovative practice. During her tenure at OC, she has won numerous awards such as the Jennie May Moyer Administrator Award in 1998; the Bremer Exceptional Faculty Award in 1996 and the YWCA woman of Achievement in Education in 1990.

She has a Master of Arts in Child Development from Washington State University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies. She is also a graduate of Olympic College.
