It was a huge night for Rick LaBow, Tracy, Ed and Jared Bushnell, Chris Olsen, Charlie Mackall and Bill Warner.
All came away from the Homebuilders Association of Kitsap Countys (HBA) annual Parade of Homes banquet, with the three huge, golden eagles, which sit atop the rotating, Best of Show trophies.
The Parade of Homes is the HBAs showcase event and the opportunity to honor its own for their craftsmanship and creativity, and where

HBA members get to show off their newest and best work to the general public. The Best of Show Award is the highest recognition a local builder can achieve. It shows that his or her work has been judged by a panel of industry peers as the best of the best in any given year.
There are classes for custom-built homes, new homes that are for sale and for remodeled homes. Except for the remodels, the homes are judged in price categories.

LaBow, who works from the Old Town Silverdale offices of Kirkland-based Chaffey Homes, took the Best of Show Award in the For Sale Home over $750,000 category.
The honors were for a home Chaffey built on Astoria Place on Bainbridge Island. This is the second time in the last three years the company, which has been building in Kitsap County for three decades, has been so honored. Chaffey was the Best of Show winner in 2002 as well, with that winning entry also located on Bainbridge Island.
