The Washington Retail Association’s (WRA) board of directors has voted to endorse Republican Dino Rossi in his bid for Washington State Governor. The endorsement process considered Rossi’s support for retail over the years while a member of the Washington State Legislature.

“His support for the retail industry has made him the obvious choice,” said Jan Teague, president and CEO of WRA. “While in legislature Rossi’s voting record on items of interest to the retail arena has been in the 90 percentile. He has shown leadership on issues that were very important to the business community and the retail industry.”

Teague added Rossi fought new taxes from being pushed on businesses; he fought additional regulations that would have been costly and burdensome. As chair of the Senate Ways and Means Committee, Rossi has shown great leadership in being able to work with both sides of the aisle while working out a fair budget for the state.
