Peninsula Credit Union recently awarded five scholarships to members or the dependents of current members. Every year the Credit Union seeks applications from those pursuing studies at various vocational and educational colleges. In addition to three $1,000 scholarships, the Sandy Latham Community Service and Sel Vander Wegen Scholarships ($1,500 each) are presented to individuals whose community service and volunteer activities are exemplary.

• Christina Chavez; Shelton, WA – $1,500 Sandy Latham Community Service Scholarship. Chavez is pursuing a degree in nursing at Olympic College.
• Cortney Blakemore; Grapeview, WA - $1,500 Sel Vander Wegen Scholarship. Blakemore will pursue a career in Nurse Anesthesia at the Medical University of South Carolina.
• Kathleen Keith; Hoodsport, WA - $1,000 Scholarship. Keith will be pursuing a Business Degree at a Washington state university.
• Levi Larson; Auburn, WA - $1,000 Scholarship. Larson will attend the University of Washington School of Law.
• Kami Lynn Kingman; Matlock, WA - $1,000 Scholarship. Kingman will be attending Washington State University.
