Dentists Huey, Ali and Adamian are
awarded EnviroStar certification

Doctors Michael Huey, Sami Ali, Sevak Adamian have earned certification as an EnviroStar business. The dental office at 1880 Pottery Avenue in Port Orchard has demonstrated a commitment to protecting the environment by properly managing and reducing hazardous waste. They have been awarded Four Stars (out of five maximum) for their efforts.

Dr. Huey’s group is the first dental practice in Kitsap County to earn EnviroStar certification for each of its locations. The office at 1275 NE Franklin Avenue in Bremerton was certified in October 2003. Some of the best management practices that the office has adopted include having written procedures for handling scrap and trap amalgam waste, lead foils and spent x-ray fixer.

To protect the environment, the office has also incorporated management practices for storing hazardous products and wastes and provides secondary containment to prevent possible spills or leaks. The office uses steam sterilization instead of chemicals, which reduces the amount of hazardous waste being disposed.
