Kitsap Bank sponsors JDRF
South Sound Walk to cure diabetes

Kitsap Bank/Olympic Bank recently announced its corporate sponsorship for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) South Sound Walk to Cure Diabetes.

This 5-mile walk, which tours Point Defiance Park, begins on Saturday, May 8 at 9:00 a.m. Kitsap Bank/Olympic Bank is dedicated to raising funds to fight diabetes and in doing so, is selling sneakers in its branches for $1.

According to Tony George, Executive Vice President/CFO, “We are strongly committed to supporting the communities where we live and work. The JDRF Walk is just one way Kitsap Bank/Olympic Bank can show our enthusiasm for this most important mission – to cure diabetes in our lifetime.”

Over 16 million Americans are afflicted with diabetes, 266,000 in Washington State alone. The 2004 South Sound Walk to Cure Diabetes benefits JDRF and its mission to find a cure for diabetes through the support of research. Last year, Kitsap Bank/Olympic Bank raised the most money for financial institutions, almost $8,600! If you would like to help the bank achieve its goal this year, visit your local Kitsap Bank/Olympic Bank and purchase a sneaker for $1, or join a team in the walk.
