The Washington Institute for Workforce Development and Economic Sustainability has been awarded a $100,000 grant from Workforce Innovation Networks (WINs). The Institute is an AWB affiliate that focuses on workforce training and educational issues in addition to studying the business climate and economic competitiveness issues in Washington.
Were thrilled to have been awarded this grant, stated Mike Hudson, Director of the Institute of Workforce Development and Economic Sustainability. It will help fulfill the intent of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 and make Washingtons workforce development system market driven. We look forward to working closely with employers, WorkSource centers and community colleges to make this goal a reality.
WINs is a partnership of the Center for Workforce Success of the Manufacturing Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers; the Center for Workforce Preparation, a non-profit affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and Jobs for the Future. |
