KPS Health Plans’ Charitable Giving Committee sponsored 50 families for its annual Thanksgiving Family Dinner drive. Each department in the company was assigned an item to complete the turkey dinners, from gravy to side dishes to cranberry sauce.

The recipients were families from five of the food banks that KPS regularly contributes to. Food banks include Bremerton, South Kitsap, Central Kitsap, Fishline North Kitsap, and North Mason.

In its efforts to provide more community-oriented events and services, the employees of KPS Health Plans formed the Charitable Giving Fund last year. A team of employees review and respond to requests received by KPS for charitable contributions. The Fund is used to support a variety of activities, including a year-round food drive, contributions to programs such as the March of Dimes and the YMCA, and to support a Secret Santa program for the ALIVE shelter and local nursing homes.

The Fund also sponsors a tree display for Harrison Hospital Foundation’s annual Festival of Trees fundraiser. The Committee has held several successful fundraisers and food drives this year, including a benefit auction raising over $2,100, a Charity Golf Tournament raising nearly $10,000, and the annual food drive contributing a record 7,215 items, approximately 52 per employee. These activities are made possible entirely through employee contributions and fundraisers.
