Art Anderson Associates wins
terminal improvement contract

Bremerton’s Art Anderson Associates has signed a contract with Kitsap Transit to provide planning and design for the improvements to the Bremerton passenger-only ferry terminal.

In anticipation of a positive vote for the new passenger-only service the agency has proposed, planning and permitting have begun for outfitting the A-float and constructing a new service float. The A-float was originally designed and constructed as part of the Bremerton Transportation Center POF in 1999. Funding for the project was cut when the legislature reduced the car tab tax after I-695 was overwhelmingly approved by the voters.

Bringing the A-Float, which has been moored in Tacoma, into service will improve passenger accessibility to passenger ferries, allow for additional moorage, and meet the demands of the proposed new generation of small, high speed, bow loading passenger ferries.
