Saying she wanted to take time to care for an ailing family member and consider other career options, Ilene Frisch announced handed in her resignation as director of Administrative Services for Kitsap County. The move was effective immediately.
Frisch, came to the county after serving as finance director for the City of Bothell. Prior to that, she was the finance director for the City of Bullhead City, Arizona. Before coming West, she held several senior management positions State government in Albany, New York, including work as Assistant Commissioner for Community Development and Director of Internal Audit and Planning.
Frisch originally agreed to work as Kitsap Countys Interim director in June 2002 under a temporary arrangement intended to help the County transition from an annual to a two-year budget process. Based on her success with that and other projects, in September 2002, the County appointed her as director responsible for overseeing the Countys budget and finance, information and telecommunications services, risk management, purchasing, facilities and capital project management activities.
Ilene has been extremely helpful to Kitsap County in many ways, said County Administrator, Malcolm Fleming, including transitioning to a two year budget, negotiating a comprehensive agreement on the Bremerton Government Center that produced a win, win, win situation for all parties involved, identifying and implementing significant cost-savings measures in the Administrative Services department and coordinating the transition of the facilities maintenance staff to the Parks and Recreation department.
County Commission Chair Jan Angel noted, Ilenes technical expertise, especially on economic development, bond financing, program auditing and information systems helped move us forward on many fronts. We will miss her.
Frisch holds a master of public administration degree in state and local finance from the Maxwell School of Government at Syracuse University and a bachelors of science from Illinois State University where she graduated with honors. She is a member of the Washington Association of Government Finance Officers Association, Association of Government Accountants and a certified Government Financial Manager. |
