Kitsap international trade luncheon set

The Port of Bremerton and Kitsap Peninsula Business Journal are co-sponsoring a special luncheon focusing on international trade.

“Can We Build a New Consensus in Support of International Trade?” features Bill Center, President of the Washington Council on International Trade. Center is a retired Rear Admiral in the Navy and is well known in the Kitsap Community as a previous commander of Navy Region Northwest.

He will speak on how to build consensus among public agencies and private business to explore and build upon opportunities for international trade in Kitsap County. The event will be held at the Panda Inn on the Bay in Bremerton on Oct. 29.

The luncheon is the result of work done by the Kitsap International Trade Development Committee, a consortium of businesses and organizations formed three years ago that encourage businesses to explore the opportunities of selling products and services in the global market. The committee has sponsored past trade development workshops targeting trade with Canada and most recently, trading with Mexico.

The program begins at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $15 in advance or $17 at the door. Seating is limited and advance reservations are required.

Contact the Port of Bremerton at (360) 674-2381 Extension 0 for reservations or more information.
