Funding watershed restoration
topic of November conference

To increase the sustainability of natural resource restoration projects as well as building capacity of watershed planning organizations, the Pacific Northwest Regional Water Quality Program has collaborated with the Environmental Finance Center at Boise State University to present a satellite conference on funding watershed projects. Satellite technology lets you sit in the classroom with the experts and receive answers to your questions. “Funding Watershed Restoration in the Pacific Northwest” will be held Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in a satellite conference hosted by Washington State University Extension – Kitsap County at 715 Sidney Ave., Port Orchard.

This conference is designed to reach watershed councils, planning groups, tribes, local, and county government planning agencies, natural resource departments and other interested persons. It will include:

  • Hints for success: Hear what wins awards from a professional environmental grant writer and public sector grant evaluator.
  • Receive CD/links to a searchable database of Pacific Northwest funding sources
  • Receive “Primer on Habitat Costs”
  • Receive CD/links and a demonstration of “Plans2 Fund” software which includes: Identifying Objectives from Set Goals, Prioritizing Strategies, Budgeting for Success, Discovering Resources, Closing that Funding Gap.
